Saying goodbye to Breckenridge

You shouldn't take your van with 183,000 miles to Colorado with you unless you want to be sidelined while it is in the shop. Oh well...We cleaned up my dream house(7 bathrooms!), took pictures and went to the slopes.

Monday in Colorado...Jacket weather while Oklahoma burns up

We had a lovely 2nd day...recovered from our lack of sleep and headed south for a float trip but found this wonderful lake off of highway 9 where we could hike and explore

There was a beautiful waterfall and abandoned mine above the lake Posted by Picasa

Exploring the abandoned mine...don't people need to be rescued from these all the time? Posted by Picasa

We headed south out of Breckenridge to go on a float trip, but realized we wouldn't make it on time...so we stopped to eat at the highest saloon in the USA(something like 10,800 ft) the crowd in there were pretty high as well. Spencer had been talking about leprechans on the way there, how if he saw a leprechan, he would chase it so he could get three wishes. Coincidentally, there was a real live leprechan in this saloon, who was quite attracted to Lainey, and I am so sad that I didn't get his picture to prove we really saw a leprechan...anyway Spencer failed to even approach him! I guess that Lainey and I failed as well, because we saw where the pot of gold was at the end of the rainbow and didn't go get it. Posted by Picasa

Sunday, after delivering Drew

We got to Breckenridge around 11 am on Sunday morn...we napped, explored Mike and Bob's amazing house and climbed the mountain behind...Spencer tried to catch the one fish in the stream behind the house...we had a beautiful rain
